Let’s reaffirm our commitment to our shared home β€” the Dolphin Coast.
Protecting it begins with each of us. Together, we can shape a cleaner, greener, more resilient KwaDukuza.

We are blessed to live on the Dolphin Coast – a little slice of paradise where the rhythm of the ocean meets the heartbeat of our vibrant community.

But at DOCRRA, we know that with this beauty comes responsibility to protect our environment.

That is why, on this World Climate Action Day (24 October), we are proud to introduce the Environmental Subcommittee β€” the newest branch under the Dolphin Coast Residents and Ratepayers Association (DOCRRA) umbrella.

πŸ’š A Clean and Healthy Environment: Our Joy and Our Right

At DOCRRA, we believe that a clean and healthy environment is not only a joy β€” it is a right. It forms the foundation of our wellbeing, our economy, and our shared future. It is worth defending!

The DOCRRA Environmental Subcommittee, together with its valued partners, is committed to tackling pollution, environmental degradation, and promoting biodiversity β€” in the air, on land, and in our waterways.

🌱 What We Do

We are not an enforcement agency. We are a collective of residents who care deeply about our environment. We identify problems, gather information, report to the proper authorities, and work collaboratively to find solutions.

Our alliance is multi-faceted and action-driven. Some of our recent and ongoing work includes:

We are here to connect the dots between community, conservation, and accountability β€” to ensure the Dolphin Coast environment thrives.

🌊 Standing Watch Over the Dolphin Coast

Our dedicated team, chaired by Brian Pottinger, is working tirelessly to protect and promote the health of our environment.

β€œThe hectic pace of urbanisation along the Dolphin Coast in recent years has put enormous pressure on our environment, most obviously in increased levels of air, water and land pollution. Tackling these menaces is the main task of DOCRRA’s Environmental Subcommittee and the environmental groups with which it is associated.”

Through collaboration, data collection, and advocacy, the subcommittee stands as a guardian of the Dolphin Coast’s environmental integrity.

🌿 Building a Cleaner, Healthier Dolphin Coast

This work won’t be achieved overnight. Change takes time, persistence, and partnership.

But with collective effort β€” by increasing environmental surveillance, speeding up response times, and building cooperative solutions β€” we can restore the balance of our ecosystems and ensure that the Dolphin Coast remains a clean, healthy, thriving home for generations to come.

The DOCRRA Environmental Subcommittee also plays an active role in climate action in KwaDukuza, ensuring local communities are empowered to make sustainable, informed environmental choices.

  1. All of us living on the Dolphin Coast are blessed to have DOCRRA looking out for, and representing our best interests. The work done by the Chairman and his team, is getting results in persistently forcing KDM to improve its governance, service delivery, transparency and compliance. The stronger together approach is working and KDM recognize that DOCRRA is a force to be recognized and taken seriously. As owners in Forest Village in Brettenwood, we have a pool of expertise and experience in many fields. I for one, am prepared to DONATE 3 hours a week = 15 hours a month to assist where I can with organising live music events. I propose that these events use our talent pool of professional musicians living in the KDM region, to perform once a month, on rotation to support DOCRRA in its worthy and critical endeavours. A cover charge can be levied per person attending the event, with the proceeds shared 50/50 by the musician(s) and DOCRRA. This will generate a small income for both DOCRRA and our local musicians, at the same time spreading respective reputations and support for both parties. We can set up a DOCRRA ACCOUNT to handle these funds properly. SINCERE THANKS DOCRRA
