An Open Letter to the Speaker and Municipal Manager of KwaDukuza Municipality

Dear Madam Speaker Cllr Dolly Govender and Mr. Nhlanhla Mdakane, Municipal Manager:

We are compelled to express our deep disappointment and frustration through this open letter due to the municipality’s persistent unresponsiveness and disregard for community needs. As you have acknowledged, there exists a legal and moral obligation to engage, consult, and solicit feedback from the KwaDukuza community, as stipulated in the Municipal Systems Act and the Municipal Finance Management Act.

Dolphin Coast Outreach (DCO) Celebrates 4 Years of Nourishing Communities

Coinciding with International Food Week, the Dolphin Coast Outreach (DCO) proudly marks its fourth anniversary, boasting remarkable growth and a profound impact on neighbouring communities. Founded on a simple yet powerful premise, DCO has evolved into a thriving volunteer initiative, serving approximately 10,000 nutritious soup portions monthly. Volunteers from up and down the Dolphin Coast cook up delicious, homemade soup which is paired with a starch to provide a nutritious and healthy meal. This impressive feat is augmented by the organization’s support of nine local soup kitchens.
