The Dolphin Coast Residents and Ratepayers Association (DOCRRA) and the Residents and Ratepayers Associations of Zinkwazi, Blythedale and Tinley Manor, are pleased to announce the formation of the KwaDukuza Organised Residents and Ratepayers Alliance (KORA).
At a meeting held on the 19th of October 2021, it was decided to join forces on issues that affect the members of these associations. The KORA committee will interact with one another on issues regarding the KwaDukuza Municipality and coordinate their input and have joint representation within KwaDukuza structures.
Each Residents and Ratepayers Association knows best what their unique concerns are and will continue to focus on these. Successes and advice will be shared between these organisations.
When it comes to influencing KDM budgets, the KDM Annual report analysis, and similar cross cutting issues, the KORA coordinating committee will collaborate to create a “one voice” representation with KDM.
A further goal is to assist the Residents and Ratepayers of other areas, such as the town of KwaDukuza, to form their own structures and work with KORA. “We believe this will strengthen the representation, influence and impact of the members of all of the above associations. It will also increase resources and avoid duplication” says Deon Viljoen, chairman of DOCRRA.
A further goal is to ensure representation of KORA on the new IDP Representative Forum of KDM. At this forum, the medium and longer term needs, and commensurate budgets, are agreed for the next 5 years.
DOCRRA will initially assist with the administration of KORA.
