UPDATE : RUBBISH RATE HIKE SHOCK

Following our report on the increased rubbish rate collection fees last month, DOCRRA is pleased to report the following feedback from KDM:

Due to the outcry from the community, and the obvious errors that have taken place, Dolphin Coast Waste Management (DCWM) have been instructed to perform a new survey of the households they provide collection from.

Of the 600 or so households which received an increase in their bill, approximately 200 objections were received, and of those 200, about 180 will have the charges removed from their April bill.  No charges will be considered for reversal unless that resident has lodged an objection with Shireen from KDM.  If you have been charged for additional collection, and this is not an accurate representation of your situation, please email Shireenl@kwadukuza.gov.za However, if you do have two households residing on your property, you will be liable for two charges for collection, as stipulated in the bylaws.

Please note that a domestic worker living on your property does not constitute a second household for waste collection purposes.

DOCRRA will continue to track this issue and endeavour to advise the community when the new survey will take place.

In order to provide this critical content to the community, we need your help.  Please support us and become a DOCRRA member today by visiting  https://docrra.co.za/membership/.
